About Us

Integrated Rural Development Organization (IRDO) is an NGO founded in 1989. The organization is legally registered in Tanzania under ACT 2002 made under section 11(3) of Act No.24 of 2002 in February 2012 to cover Tanzania Mainland with registration number 00001446. Since its inception, the organization implemented programs that addressed sustainable agriculture, food security, nutrition, entrepreneurship, HIV&AID, Gender, Child protection and strengthening community organizations in Mbeya and Songwe Regions. IRDO has experience of 30 years in development processes and has implemented over 23 projects supported by different donors. Some of partners that IRDO has collaborated with include UNICEF, USAID-PACT TANZANIA, DKA/WELTHAUS, AFRICARE, SAVE THE CHILDREN, and HJFMRI/MHRP through WALTERREED, FEED THE FUTURE MBOGA NA MATUNDA ACTIVITY, CORDAID, and TUDOR-TRUST UK and Foundation for civil society.

  • The organization has already been in charge of a USD 1,477,114 annual budget for the past three years. To date, the organization has more than 33 staff members with diverse professional backgrounds and work experience in fields such as resource management, agriculture, nutrition, health, social welfare, engineering, project planning and management, community development, rural development, monitoring and evaluation, and finance. The organization has set up a well-equipped office headquarters with transportation options.
  • Strategic Plan:IRDO’s 2022 strategy focuses on strengthening the facilitation of development initiatives amongst Tanzanian society, largely focused on the Songwe and Mbeya regions. The organizational aspirations for the coming five years have been outlined to provide a detailed understanding and focus on how our operations, programs and activities will be managed moving forward
